For lunch today, we had the quintessential Sri Lankan dish, Kottu, right on the beach. Nilesh and I shared a Chicken Kottu, while the kids went for an Egg Kottu. There’s something about eating this spicy, stir-fried flatbread concoction with the ocean as your backdrop that just elevates the whole experience.
The kids absolutely loved it, sitting on the sand with their feet being gently washed by the waves. They were so engrossed in their Egg Kottu and Indra and Krishav loved feeding Simmi on the sand. Best part, we don’t have to clean the mess. As for LIsa and me, the Chicken Kottu was a hit. The mix of flavors, the spicy chicken, and the crunchy bits of flatbread were just perfect.
