We were excited to celebrate Lisa’s birthday in Vietnam. The day was packed with excitement, joy, and a dash of local flavor.

The morning began with a delightful surprise orchestrated by the boys. They had visited a local bakery the day before, selecting a beautiful cake which they cleverly concealed in our fridge. The look on Lisa’s face when she discovered the cake first thing in the morning was priceless – a perfect start to her birthday.

In addition to the cake, we presented Lisa with a unique gift – a voucher for a luxurious 3-hour spa treatment. The value, a whopping 1 Million Dong, made us feel like temporary millionaires in Vietnam, adding an amusing twist to our celebration.

Breakfast was a delightful change of pace. We found ourselves at Bikini Bottoms, a cozy spot in Danang known for its Western-style breakfasts. After days of immersing ourselves in local Vietnamese cuisine, the familiar tastes of home were a welcome treat. The atmosphere was lively, and the food delicious, setting a cheerful tone for the day.

The highlight of the day came with our dinner at Madame Lan’s Vietnamese restaurant. It was an awesome experience of authentic Vietnamese flavors. The food was exceptional, with each dish telling its own story of the rich culinary heritage of Vietnam. It was the perfect culmination of a day filled with laughter, exploration, and the warmth of good company.
